Hello All
Just before lockdown commenced my wife and I brought a 1998 614D Vario bus as a project to convert to a camper. Peter of 'Old Engine's' blog has been a real help and I found him here as well.
This will be a 6 month project and lead us into a year's road trip in Southern and Eastern Europe with our twins.
We will need answers to many questions that will crop up. We have stripped it out and the floor and all the old bus fittings is now gone. We have a welder lined up and also an upholsterer. We've had a new auxiliary belt fitted as we'll as 4 new shocks. All engine / gear train fluids have been changed and new filters fitted all around.
Early questions are ' what are the best supply sources for chassis cross beams, real inner and outer wheel arch covers and front N/S floor pan, as well as a works / parts manual
We're looking forward to the works ahead and they are a great antidote to this Covid trouble we are all facing
