- CLK 320 Avantgarde Coupe 2003
Hi everyone,
I've just joined your excellent forum, but to be honest, I'm not new to the brand. I first started working for Mercedes-Benz in 1990, and still with them today. I've been lucky enough to own a raft of diverse MB product over the years, from a 1980 280CE to a 2004 E55, and have run an eclectic mix of when current, MB demonstrators. My first MB company car was a 190E 2.0 Auto in Almandine with grey cloth with the usual extras of the day, namely the 15 hole alloys, front arm rest, rear headrests and OTG, IIRC.
Due to the excessive UK company car tax rules, some years ago I decided to come out of the company car scheme, and my daily drivers are a mix between an '82 911 SC Coupe and my current MB, an '03 CLK320 Avantgarde Coupe, depending on circumstances.
I've always appreciated the engineering integrity and bullet proof build quality of earlier Porsche & MB product, and thoroughly enjoy using them daily as originally intended, rather than metaphorically wrapping them up under a dust sheet in the garage.
My only current issue with the CLK is a sudden water leak which has appeared just this week in the drivers side footwell. She has the sunroof so will check the water drains to see if that could be the cause. Failing that, I'll book it in our workshop ( thank the Lord for staff discount ) !
Anyway, that's it from me, except to say a big thank you for such an excellent source of MB knowledge being shared throughout the MB community.
Nick B.
