E220 (S212) AMG Night Edition / 2016 / 2.2 BLUETEC
Hello all,

I've just bought a Merc (my 1st dip into this Brand). I have very little knowledge to go on so I was hoping for any top tips for me to keep my eye out for on my E22o Estate.

I've just got a E220 (S212) AMG Night Edition BLUETEC 2.2, with 8k on the clock on a 16 plate.

What goes wrong with them?
What do I need to inspect to keep ahead of any problems?

Any known gremlins or niggles?

Any top tips for care, service or use?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hi and welcome.
At that age you should be good for ages. Usual issues are EGRs, split boost hoses and not much else really (but I'll hold my hand up and say I'm not all that au fait with diesels - more a petrol man myself).

Welcome!

In my opinion the 212 and the 220cdi engine are a very reliable combination so sit back and enjoy the marque. The only thing I would add is that it’s worth familiarising yourself with the ADBLUE system as it may need topping up between services, the tank takes 25 litres I believe and may require a top up of 20 litres to put the warning light off apparently

Top up to 15 litres minimum then 3 x ignition restarts to reset the warning ( Steve posted it elsewhere I’m not that clever )

Hi and welcome buddy , being a diesel it needs an occasional long run to get it all up to temperature . Probably weekly in my opinion maybe up to 30 mins at speed . The car will also thank you for regular Italian tune ups (when it's warm ):D

Welcome, I have a 212 2011 version with the 350CDI engine.
One one fault in 46K miles, the turbo boost sensor seal. So very pleased.

E350 Bluetec estate
I have a 2014 e350 estate. The rear suspension has been replaced due to leaks from the air bags and I understand this is quite common. So keep an eye on the rear ride height after it has been parked for a while and if you have any issues get it sorted under warranty.
Otherwise they are great cars and I am really pleased with mine.
