Hello,
Having recently bought a 1984 280SL with a manual gearbox now is the time to find out all about the R107, warts and all!

I purchased it knowing that it needs work, I have "played" with cars for too long, according to my missus!
First on the list of tidying up the car is to replace the cracked windscreen and the seal behind (water leaks).

Any advise on looking after these cars and where to source parts and advice would be much appreciated.

fine choice of motor you have made.
I have used all of the following with great results so far.
SLS, Mercman, Mercparts, Forestfine, Eurocarparts, German Swedish and French, Brakes International, and good old MB themselves. I also watch e-bay like a hawk, and a few international forums. I find the Germans and the Americans very friendly and willing to help a fellow sufferer from 107-itis.
Always check with MB first, then you've an idea of what to beat in terms of price and availability. Some of the things you need, you will only be able to get from them or a Merc breaker.
