Hi all,

It's nice to find an actual forum rather than Facebook etc! I've just purchased a 2006 CLS320 CDi from my local auction for the princely sum of £750. It's a mess. Bodywork and drivetrain all need sorting but one step at a time.

Bought myself a Launch diagnostic tool which helped me pinpoint most of the problems and I'm now working my way through it. First issue was a completely dead battery. A new one of those has cured a few issues and it's charging and isn't draining so that's a strong start. Now working on the ABS system and replacing sensors and rings! Replaced the brake light switch too. Also need an O2 sensor and possibly an inlet port shutoff motor!

Anyway I'll update as I go along!

Welcome to the forum.
Keep an eye on ebay for cars being broken / spares.

New parts are often the best but prices may put you off.

You sound as if you know what you doing. Enjoy the little project and keep us updated.

Always liked the shape of the CLS.

Instead of an inlet port motor , just fit a £1 4.7k ohm resistor to the middle two connectors on the inlet motor power supply .
If you google “om642 inlet motor resistor fix “ you will have endless stuff to read.
