Have to get a new steering airbag but actually quite fancy getting a flashy new steering wheel at same time.
I've seen a few that look promising but dont know whats ok / will fit. Would prefer a straight swap. Any recommendations?

I quite like the sl55 type. But they seem to have gear paddles which I dont have or want to mess with trying to fit.
For a 54 c180 w203 - Dont laugh

oooh, that is a nice site.
Actually I was thinking more along the lines of this one

It does say w203 amg, butt expensive to buy and not fit.
Does changing a steering wheel effect insurance??
not sure about the insurance but you would need to be sure your airbag will fit & this is a better price http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MERCEDES-BENZ...66:2|39:1|72:1689|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50

Yeah I do like that style. I've got a similar one (4spoke), but this has still no air bag. Link for SW I showed comes with one already.
I could just get an airbag and be boring but they cost as much as a cheap ford escort. Shame they built the buttons in a disposable part. Still I guest they 'cost' a lot less to make.

Is that the right one?
Last steering wheel I bought was a massive 28 quid for a Ford capri about 15 years ago.
I guess they've moved on a bit:)
