Hi folks,
My W203 220CDI takes a life time to get up to operating temperature (80-90 Deg?). I've replaced the thermostat twice and its still no better. My normal drive to work is 14 miles, and at the end of that i'm lucky to see about 60-65 deg on the gauge.
I believe the gauge is reading the right temperature as the blower isnt the best, and the fan isnt kicking in either. On a long run, or up hills, it does rise to just above 80, and i have no problems with overheating.
Is there another fix i should try, or have i just been unfortunate with dodgy mercedes thermostats? Maybe a different, more reliable (and cheaper!) thermostat fits in the original housing?
Stephen
