E class 2014 250 CDI estate
Hi
I got my first Mercedes around two years ago. It's a 2014 E class estate 250 CDI. It is a very nice clean car.
I am also new to forums and on a strict budget to look after my E class. So hoping the wealth of knowledge on the forum will help me.
I am very experienced in electrical and mechanical engineering and have for the last 20 odd years done all my own car maintenance so hoping I can put some knowledge back to the forum

Hi Ricky, welcome to the forum :) You sound like you will be a useful guy to have around this forum. Having said that there is a wealth of knowledge on here and in my view is the best forum out there !! :D

Hi Ajd
Thanks for the welcome
I like to keep my car's with original parts and in well maintained. But I live more than a hundred miles away from my local Mercedes dealer so it's not that easy to just pop in to them.
It's also sometimes expensive so anything I can do myself I am keen to try

Well Ricky I have to be honest I don’t
always use original parts , sometimes due to the cost. But I also have a small fault of servicing too often and replacing parts before they are worn out.

There aren't many of us on here use an MB Stealer so look out for an Independent (Indy) and save yourself some money. Should we know where you are allocated there are plenty on here that can make a recommendation :)

I have worked on car's for years now and I have been let down a few times by using cheap parts. So I always look at OEM parts first but I am not stuck hard and fast to OEM.
I have always been on a tight budget so I will shop around

Thanks for the info.
I am also new to owning such a new (in relative terms) car and thought keeping the full Mercedes service history will keep value for me and my car.
I live on the very tip of Scotland's east side kw14 postcode

Hi Ricky and welcome to the forum. There’s often a recommendation on here for a Mercedes dealer who does a decent discount for forum members on mail order, not something I have used but someone will read this and give you the details.

Edit.... I see from another thread that you’ve already discovered that!
