Hi All,

I am back in country after a 4 year assignment abroad and looking to get a decent set of wheels that are ULEZ compliant, can haul around 3 kids and their stuff and doesn't break the bank! Eyeing an used E class estate. Any pointers on what to look for and what to avoid would be most appreciated.

Thanks Blobcat, you read my mind.
I have looked at a few, but there seems to be mish mash of different dashboards (two LED displays vs one LED and analog dials) and different packs, that make trim levels all a bit too confusing...

Any pointers as to where I can understanding the plethora of option combinations (or basically what to avoid!)?

Thanks again for the warm wlecome.

SE came with normal dash and 10" screen - but real leather seats and 17" wheels
AMG Line came with twin 12" screens - but fake leather and big wheels

Later SE cars came with twin 12" screens ~19 plate cars I think

I did see brand new E220d SE's in nice colours for just less than £30K brand new from Mercedes quite recently to give an idea of prices.

Hi and welcome. I can’t add anything what Blobcat has already said so well.

If you have an actual car in mind, post up details of the advert on here and someone will give you some views on the actual car.

Thanks Blobcat, Apologies for being a novice in this, but what confused me is that I have come across AMG Line cars with one screen and to add to the confusion, the presence (or absence) of the touchpad above the mmi control knob.

I think there was a premium / premium plus option as well as AMG Line which came with the twin 12” screens.
I found the larger screen became hidden by my hand on the steering wheel in one I hired.
I had the smaller screen in mine (company cat, less tax...)

Both just standard spec with no "toys" - 360' camera is nice to have
I'd not want 20" wheels or black artico fake leather but that's my choice and it's your choice that's important.
