Hi Guys,
New here, thought I'd do the decent thing and stop by and say hello.
Purchased a 2011 atego 7 5 tonner a few days ago, it's a decent enough truck, I've got a bit of rot though around the inner step bit, the door seal at the bottom probably had it years ago and it's been leaking water into that area, I'll need to get a bit of welding done. Other thing is the ABS light is on and the supposed to be working which isn't tail lift , looks like a chain may have snapped although it looks OK. It's a ross and bonnyman type, when I push the down button one side drops normally but the other side only drops about an inch or so, I'm in Auchinleck Ayrshire Scotland, got it booked at Dumfries Mercedes in a couple of weeks so they can tell me what's up with the ABS and general check over for its test which is due soon.
Last time I drove an Atego was 1999/2000, that was an 815, drove it all the way to Sweden and back twice, the 816 feels a little bit bigger in the cab, but I could be wrong, need to find a centre seat and seat belt as only 2 seats in mine.
Lastly I've got a post up about the diagnostic port, I have a computer for dagnositic on cars with a standard obd11 connector, the Atego diagnostic port looks similar to the car port but mine doesn't fit. Guess it must be a different type for trucks.
Well that's it really, looks like a good forum and I'm happy to be a member here..
Best regards to all
Ian
