Just replaced the drivers side front tyre on my 1999 CLK due to a flat. It’s the same size tyre but different make etc.

On a drive up to Newcastle the cruise control refuses to engage in speeds over 80 mph.
Could this be down to the tyre change and the fact it wasn’t changed as a pair ?

Cheers

Hi Neil, this could well be the reason as the speed signal has to be accurate, and I suspect that at 80 mph it just goes out of spec for it to hold CC

The new tyres should be fitted to the rear for the best safety, you could cruise at 70-75 and save your licence
