After managing to cover nearly 30,000mls on my last khumos I managed to find time to go down to Tyres R us in Birmingham and get 4 new ones fitted . I had let them get too low probably still legal but only just, bald at the edges and about 1.6mm over about 75% Lower than I usually let them go I did have a nervous trip down the motorway, tension caused by travelling at 70 and straining my eyes looking for any standing water, not a pleasant trip .
Anyway the new Khumos are on , she has been MOT'd and has had new track rod ends on . I can't believe the difference in the ride, the new tyres have made, she is much quieter, more compliant and feels newer and less bump and shake. I think the Old tyres had lost so much tread the ride was harder and had lost a lot of compliance, I am pleased she feels like she used to, rejuvenated in the Ride department, all 4 Khumo Ecsta sports 215 / 55 / 16 's for £280 all in can't grumble at that, same as the old ones quiet / grippy and hard wearing :)

Having had some bad experiences on the motorway in the wet with tyres that are legal but pretty worn, I now replace mine when they get to around 3mm.
