hey everyone! I'm new to the site and might be buying a E200K W210 2moro but the only problem is that it has light damage to the front which will mean it will need a new bumper, bonnet and possibly a radiator. I'm going to look at the car 2moro but I'm doing some research at the moment on how much the parts may cost me to repair the car. At this moment in time I cant tell if the radiator has been affected but if someone could possibly post a picture up of the engine bay of a W210 E200 then that would be much appreciated so that I could see the spacing between the front bumper and the radiator.

Thanks
:)

Be Careful!

Hi, if it has been hit hard enough at the front to damage the bonnet as well as the bumper make sure you look at it really carefully for damage to the front structures behind the bumper and grill, also possibly the outer and inner wings. If it needs a new rad then it is quite likely that there will be some front structural damage beyond just a bumper, even if it is not immediately obvious.

You have not said what the age / mileage / cost of the vehicle is, but if it is a w210 it must be at least 5-6 years old, or more?. The cost of repairing even what appears to be quite light damage could be substantial if you want it done to a high standard. If the car is very cheap and you are happy to run it as a banger then you may be able to repair cheaply with parts from a breaker (but even then unless they are exactly the same colour the cost of a bumper and bonnet spray will be quite a lot).

Unless you really know what you are doing or have a friend in the trade it would be easy to end up paying too much for a damaged vehicle.

If you decide to go ahead then good luck, but if you have any doubts at all walk away - there are lots of cars out there that will be a less complicated purchase!

Are you in the trade ?

Are you aware of the considerable rust problems with 210 vehicles ???????????

hi everyone! i'm not in the trade myself but have heard quite a few times about rust problems with the 210's. my dads owned a few mercs in the past with one being a brand new 51 plate 210 which we had for a couple of years. the one that i'm gonna be looking at is an 02 plate E200K with 58k on the clock and I'm getting it for under £3k. I'll be having a very careful look at the car and as I've been into cars for quite some time now (used to go to the car auctions a lot and have bought a few cars from there) I've picked up the knowledge of what to look for and check but as for the 210's I'm pretty new to them but I'm hoping this one will be a minter apart from the light damage to the front. If the damage has reached the radiator though I've decided that I wont bother with it and will then keep my eyes peeled for anything else that'll pop up.
