Hi all,

I've just taken delivery of my 2004 7 seat ML270 today and am looking for a couple of spares without incurring main dealer prices.

I'm on the look out for a chrome or silver grille and a rear luggage compartment cover.

As regards the luggage cover there are currently a couple of blanks where the cover would be seated.

Does anyone know where I could get hold of such items? I've set up searches on eBay but there doesn't seem to be many of these particular bits about.

Any help, advice or contact details greatly appreciated.

I dont think you can fit a cover if the extra seats are in place, regarding grilles there are some cheap and nasty grille trim kits about.

Hello,

If you have the seven seats the load cover will not fit, it cannot close as the seats will be in the way.

I will probably take mine out to be honest as doubt I will need them and then just store them for re sale. Makes for an even larger boot and then a load cover will fit.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies - much appreciated.

Another question - does anyone know if the luggage net/dog guard was standard or optional on the ML?

Thanks again.

Hello,

I think unlike the E-class estates (and probably the C-class) it was an option.

Its in the catalogue as a part, probably best to look on flea bay.

Cheers

Just seen this thread, the dog/luggage net was standard on mine. I specced my ML and I didnt order it at the time.

One note re:luggage cover, the ML's are noisier when the luggage cover is open (at least mine is). Road noise from the rear tends to be muffled by the load cover.

I tend to get spare parts direct from Mercedes Germany or off Ebay Germany as they seem to have more parts more often.

Just to add, the luggage net and the inserts into which it connects in the roof are finnicky and brittle. Not sure if the design was changed on facelifted units, but on pre-facelift the plastic covers break and the screws holding the insert to roof always comes undone. The luggage net is worth having though if your transporting goods because it gives you that extra carrying height without strapping things down to the deck.

I've got a dog /luggage net which I never anticipate using.
PM me if interested.

Hi Greenfingers - I've not logged in for a week or so hence I've only just spotted your reply. I'm not too sure what a PM is or how to post one (assume it's a Personal Message).

I may be interested - I'll try and find out more about the PM thing this evening.

Thanks

No worries, it's here (in Oxford) if you want it.
I am not a forum expert either, but surely it would be asking for trouble or spam to give contact details to the whole world? ;)

Hi Greenfingers - I'm in Essex so quite a hike to Oxford. If I were to send you a cheque to cover postage and your trouble would you be willing to mail the net to me?

I tried to send you an e mail thru the forum but your profile is set not to receive (as is mine).

I entirely agree that it would be unwise to provide contact details on the general forum.

Not sure where to go from here except to keep searching eBay!!!
