Hello All
I have just bought a 1994 E280 Estate (Auto) as a second car, and have a slight problem that I hope you can help me with.
When the engine is cold or warm, there is a slight hesitation when accelerating from rest. It "coughs" once and clears, and then takes off. When the engine is up to operating temperature the fault disappears. I have also had two occasions when driving at 55ish (engine not up to temp) when it felt like the engine was running rough, but again coughed and cleared when I pressed the throttle about half way.
It would be nice to get hold of some kind of diagnostic tool for the car. Does anyone know of something? I have diagnostic software for my 1998 Porsche 996, but this is OBD2 compliant and not suitable. I would like to be able to read and reset fault codes, which would help me analyse this sort of problem.
