Immobiliser or not?

Hi Guys,

The forum has been a great help to me over the years so thanks all!

This is however my first post and possibly a daft one that hoping someone can answer relatively quickly. I've just purchased a 1992 300e-24 which i love but i have no idea if it has an engine immobiliser and can't find anything in the literature, can anyone advise if this was a standard fit on these cars or point me in the right direction?

Many Thanks

I have not seen one without the standard fit scorpion alarm, a red thing mounted on the inner wing in the engine bay, unless there has been problems with it and its wiring bypassed to allow its removal.

Hello and welcome to the forum:D

Its as wireman says,,after 1994 MB had a whole series of their own alarms and they are hard to identify what one is on the car.

Is yours working OK, or do you have some problems

Thanks wireman and television. As far as i can see (and as far as i'm aware) it doesn't have an alarm fitted but i wanted to know whether an immobiliser was fitted for insurance purposes, are these on and the same? Apologies for the seemingly simple questions.
