Hello Everyone,
After being a BMW fanboy all of my life, I made a deposit yesterday on a low mileage SL350 from 2003. I have wanted one of these for years but they were always out of my budget, plus the horror stories on forums did their job in putting me off. Being older and in a better position to run one, I have now bitten the bullet, albeit with some jitters
The car in question has only 42k miles (68k km), was initially part of the MB corporate fleet in Belgium, current owner has had it since 2007 and has done 1500 miles a year on average. All service records have been made available and by all accounts, it was kept indoors all its life as the condition looks close to perfect on pictures and video. And here's where I get worried..Because it was hardly used, very little of the usual known issues have come up as the service records show fairly mundane things like spark plugs, brakes, wishbones and a few bits here and there. Whiles probably a good thing, I am a bit worried that the list of preventative maintenance in the coming months might be very long as I am quite meticulous with my cars.
Time will tell I guess
