newbie to MB forum - with sprinter brake issue saying hello

hi guys (and girls) i have just joined the forum as been having an issue with soft brake pedal /poor brakes on my 311 sprinter for years and need to figure out why - any ideas

A number of questions first.
1. Have the breaks been like this since you have had the vehicle or has this been a poor pedal since any brake repairs.
2. When you have an MOT done has the MOT tester high lighted poor brakes or have they been sufficient for a pass?.

hi thanks for the reply - ok to make it a bit clearer - i hvae owned the van from new and never been happy with the brakes and had some scary moments on the motorway tbh . Its always been the same and the mot inspector hasnt ever mentioned anything but know full well that tou have to think well ahead if your planning on breaking or smile as you make contact !! i have bought different pads and disks over the years with minor improvements for a few weeks but then back to normal . my vans insured for any driver and when i let a stranger driver her the look of fear on their face when the braking time comes is all too common . surely i cant be the only one out there experiencing this ?

Just out of interest have you tried another van of the same for a comparison?.
I have enclosed a question on the same problem from an American forum.

thanks again - just finished reading it all and one guy at the end said to replace it with a 2010 -2014 master cylinder and it will be fine . only issue is my van is 2012 anyway ??
