Hi All

A colleague of mine has a clk 320cdi on a 55 plate. Its just started going into limp mode. She had an independant have a look at it and they changed the MAF sensors. Little or no improvement.

It's been on the M Star machine now and shows lambda heating and inlet port shut off valve problems x 2.

General consensus is that it's the inlet port shut off valve.

She has asked if I will strip it out for her. I've little or no experience on this engine but reasonable skills.

I'm told it's under the turbo, worth digging for it myself of paying out the super money for Merc to have a go?

You have to remove the turbo to remove the port motor but you can see it directly below where the plastic Y piece intake pipe goes onto the turbo. Trouble is, a garage with a star machine should easily be able to check whether the motor is working or not. If the motor is working, it could be inlet port flaps, which is a big job & involves probably new inlet manifolds. Sounds to me like it needs to be checked out & confirmed 100% by someone who has experience with these engines.

Youll probably find oil has leaked from the turbo intake pipe onto the motor causing a fuse to blow in the drivers front sam, which brings up air mass faults.
