Newby with a W115 & a G Wagon - garage needed!

Hi guys, so I've got a 70's 220d w115 and a. 80's G Wagon 300gd, both require varying degrees of work. I need some who knows way around older mercedes particularly for the G wagon, I'm based in Leicester but do not mind getting cars transported.

Any garage/ individual recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I can recommend MB Center just up the road in Nottingham, great guys and do work on older stuff from what I have seen in the past.

whats yr gwagon issue. i had 300,280 and 230.ge best 4x4 by far.

5 cyl. i hardly got to use first gear on that one .it was ready for 2nd before the wheel turned twise. watch propshafts they are plenty cash, i greased mine once a month and had no problems, u cant really change the joints

If you ever need a propshaft try Bailey Morris. They did them for my Defender (which ate them for breakfast) and after I fitted a BM one it ran for three years almost untouched (and was subjected to far more abuse as well).
Interestingly the one before the BM one was a front one that shrapnelled itself at 60mph on the M6 making a propshaft UJ shaped indentation in the floor beneath my feet. Just a bit exciting.....

really wish i had kept my 230GE have to give 5k more now for the same motor. i did all the nat parks,reserves in kenya with mine, incl up mt kenya. i rebuilt the engine at about 120k miles and did not even need to take the block out of the car crank and bearings still good ,re shelled b,ends , timing chain ,tensioner guides, valve guides ,oil pump a few studs ,manifold and was good to go. simple great motoring,no nasty electronics, well one i think in d.s footwell .the G cannot be beaten.
