All tyres that have any form of a V patten will make more noise, not so bad when new, but ½ way through their life the noise increases

I recently fitted 4 Nexen N6000. I'm their biggest fan, |I think they are great and cannot fault them..

I used some Nexen on a previous car and had no problems whatsoever I would have no hesitation in going back to them, in fact would buy them in preference to Michelins (I had 4 new Michelins and after about 18 months 2 of them developed blisters on the inside! They were taken off and sent back to be checked as I wanted to put in a warranty claim, but the result was according to the factory I must have "kerbed" the tyres and that caused the blisters, I just cant work out how to kerb two tyres on the inside of the wheel!

Like some others I was a fan of Kumho's but they seem to have become more and more expensive recently, I also like firestone tyres strangely enough and often find them available at extremely good prices.

thought i would give a quick update on this, i had the tires fitted yesterday and went for a 50 mile trip, was amazed how quiet they were and the grip in the bends really was excellent. will just have to see what the economy is like (although i dont think it will be too different) and how long they will last.

I went for some NBlue HD's at £62 each then my mechanic charged me £5 to fit and balance them while doing the B service yesterday.

Mercedes do not have any contract in place with Nexen to state approval to my knowledge, but that does not mean they are not good for motorway driving.

I'm on my second set of Nexens, I would not swap them for Michelins. Nexen are the better as far as I'm concerned.

Back to this thread. Time has come for me to change the rears. Currently N8000 on rear and pirelli on front half worn. I am considering changing all four for new nexen. Have always previously gone for contis all round, but at about 60% higher price am thinking is it really worth it. They N8000 is the exact same pattern as contis sport 3 I think. And have been very impressed. Blue are not available in the size I need 245 40 18, so question is should I go for N6000 or N8000 (or stop being stingy and go for premium again)??? Struggling to work out the difference, apart from perhaps N6000 have more grooves so better in wet? Need to make up mind today, so any advice?

Not MB approved but judging by the comments here, they will be. Motorway driving doesnt test tyres much

yeah not too bothered about mb approval. any views on n6000 vs n8000?

Just to update, think will probably go for the N8000. Doesn't look like lot of difference. And as had those already on the rear, may aswel stick to them, was very impressed with them.
