V6Matty,

I wouldn't cal it a problem, just that the Manufacturers were trying to appeal to a different type of driver than me..

Smooth and quiet is pretty appealing to most people. Me, I like to chuck the car about a bit (even the ML!) when I'm in the mood.

If any component in the car lets me down when I'm driving hard, it has to go!

That's why my cars are completely free of the usual clutter and rubbish that you tend to acquire over the months. When you chuck it saround, all the rubbish crashes about and irritates me. Eventually I get fed up with all the commotion and slow down.

Obviously, that can't continue, so I keep it tidy!

I am testing a set of Davanti tyres on my CL. So far so good. Good dry grip and also seem good in the wet. They are quiet.

At the price point, £400 for 4 (275/35 19 and 245/40 19) they are hard to beat.

I will let you know about longevity etc as time goes by.

This is Davanti:

This is the tyre I have on:

They might be ditch finders but I will hold my council until I can advise better...just to say I'm pleased so far.

Nariac that's a damn good price for that size of tyre.

Is that you on Pistonheads getting the usual insults as soon as the thread starts?
