Been running Pirellis since about 2012 (SLK & SL) and never had a problem. How are they rubbish & on which car?

PZeros (were standard from MB) for my car are the same price as equivalent Goodyear, Michelin etc.
Don’t try your emergency stop in the winter with your summers on buddy , they may not stand up to expected stopping distances ;) .
In the E320cdi I can’t tell any difference with the Nexens compared to the Goodyear’s they replaced , I know that‘s no test , but I’ve accelerated hard and stopped fast in a mix of weather . I do swap to winters (Pirelli at the moment ) in November so that’s a fair balance of safety in my humble opinion

I also think that noise is an issue with P Zero's. Had them on my old W204 and that was something I didn't really like about them. The current Nexen's are a lot quieter :)

To be really honest I cannot compare as I’ve only ever had PZeros on convertibles but never noticed that there was excessive noise from the tyres and on a smooth surface (those nice smooth bits on new motorways) you cannot really hear them. The noise rating is in the range of all it’s competitors ~72Dbs. I’ve passed and been passed by cars with tyres that were making an absolute roar.

Malcolm's 230 came to me with Goodyear Assy3 tyres on the rear. They were like banana skins in the wet. Fitted (much cheaper) Falken tyres and now much better, even worn down to the same level.

I had Michelins on a Saab turbo back in the mid 90s. Terrible. Replaced with P Zeros and a huge improvement. When I was looking for tyres for my Volvo T5 I put P Zeros on and they were dreadful. Ended up with (much cheaper) Avon ZZ3s and it was much better.

In my experience cost doesn't always equal performance.

The MBs (SL & SLK) are not the only cars I’ve ever owned pal. We have Michelins on my wife’s current car, driven many hire cars & company cars long distances and have owned other cars prior to 2012 without Pirellis pal. They are no better or worse than tyres on any car I’ve ever driven.

You’ve made a statement, so please explain why Pirellis are rubbish. Seems you have owned a few cars with Pirellis or do you not learn from your mistakes pal. :D ;)

no pal , they came fitted from the factory and even though I tried to get them swapped as part of the deal , I had to wear them out before replacing , they just don't grip that well in any conditions but especially in the wet , even my range rover was better for swapping to nexens , the offroad grip was exceptional next to the Pirellis is came with , aslong as your happy then that's fine and dandy , its your car and my opinion , one shared by a good few others looking at the posts in this thread . . . . .
