No Accelaration!

i have a c240 v6 auto that has been sluggish on accelaration and when the accelator is pushed to the floor will not change down and redlines until it decides to change gear,when it does change through the gears it isnt always a smooth change,any ideas ?

Get it diagnosed quickly. Driving in that state is likely to do more damage and kill the cat etc. Could be in emergency mode but hard to say. Usual suspects MAS etc.
