No Mercedes in Car of the Year 2018 awards

I see Volvo won car of the year 2018 with the XC60, a very much better vehicle than the GLC. There was not a single Mercedes in any of the other categories. Should we be surprised? With their incompetent sales staff and truly ghastly customer services I can see people leaving the Mercedes brand in droves.

Which publication’s Car of the Year award?

Please don’t make the mistake in thinking that just because one region or country’s service levels are diabolical, everywhere else is the same. For some reason the British psyche willingly accepts much lower levels of customer service quite happily and without complaining.

I saw in the Daily Mail, the FT and Telegraph, which given their published demographics is even more worrying. But I as far as I know the UK Car of the Year Awards are not publication specific.

i can't criticise MB too much VW are not exactly overwhelming me with their service I am apparently "hard to get hold of"
"we have been trying to get hold of you", they have my personal mobile number it receives all other calls remarkably well, I mused perhaps it has a software glitch for the later letters in the alphabet and the plant pot agreed that might be it !!!!!

Couldn’t agree more but until we catch-up with the US on customer rights in the EU (and don’t hold your breath on that one) business will continue to run the state as opposed to the state running business on these matters

I have been treated politely even friendly by all I have dealt with.

Should things change I will of course be letting the world know.

Good to hear, I should make clear my bad experiences are in the main limited to MB UK not local dealerships.

Its the vehicles that are the problem with Mercedes, we are talking CAR OF THE YEAR not dealership of the year.
