No Power to Command 2.0 system

E320 CDI W210. I have just had the car back from an engine rebuild and the command unit will not power up. I know they would have disconnected the battery while working on the car. I have checked all external fuses and all are OK. The garage will take a look at it next week. But ahead of that I wanted to know if there is another fuse that protects the unit. Or any advice on what the issue might be. The unit worked fine prior to going into the garage.

Thanks KK

Thanks Malcolm - How do you remove the unit - does it require special tools?

A150 manual, smart forTwo, W205 AMG line premium plus.

The keys do not work on a W210.

The fascia needs removing by undoing the two screws tucked up under where the ash tray closes. Then the fascia comes off revealing the two screws holding the comand in place.

There is a fuse on the rear as Malcolm quite rightly points out. There is also another fuse in the fusebox. Probably worth checking that one before you start dismantling.
