My W163 (ML270) blows a bit of black smoke when you use kick down, it clears again almost instantly.
I was thinking (dangerous i know !!!) a while ago i had the vacuum pipe disconnect itself from the Turbo activator, and the black smoke was something to behold. Reconnecting the pipe brought everything back as normal.
However, i wonder if its possible that the activator can, with age, become a bit lazy and does not react to a foot down demand as quickly, giving a bit of turbo lag ? (hence unburnt fuel and black smoke)
They are a relatively cheap item to replace, and seems easy enough.
anyone have a thought ?
