Hello,
I have just found this forum through google and i thought it would be worth a try.
I have an old (1996), automatic, c180, with 105,000 miles on the clock. All of a sudden, well actually after a recent oil change, the car has started to make a strange clicking noise when I accelerate. Spurts of black smoke also come out as soon as i press the accelerator. There is also a loss of power/drive. This all lasts for a few seconds and then it goes back to normal. It only happens when i slow down, i.e. if someone is breaking, and then i accelerate straight away.
I've taken it to my mechanic and he has no idea on what it could be. Is it something as simple as the oil that could need draining and replacing?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Angelo
