Noisy air intake

Looks like I've purchased a lemon
I've got a strange "induction" type noise coming from the air intake.
Mechanic thinks it's probably failing rocker arm bearings and cam shafts.
2017 e220d.
Has anyone experienced the same ?

Yeah everything is connected as it should be.
The car is driving fine, I just noticed it when I had the windows open.
Off to speak to the local dealer this morning £££££££

Has it just been serviced ? . If it has check it has an air filter element in it and if it has just check it’s a proper fit ie some pattern parts fit but only just quite fit so once lids on they deform and hence you get induction noise as air gets passed the edge that is a bad fit.

If it's an om651 engine ,the air filter is underneath the ECU. It looks like the one pictured. It's held in place by screws once fitted ,but if the open end isn't fitted properly,you will get an induction noise when revving .

Mines the OM654 engine, ive had a quick look but can see if the filter is seated correctly ‍

Update.......
I've had a bit of a result with my car . I decided to have a better look at the air box/filter. Turns out who ever "serviced" it last hadn't seated the back of the box down properly and damaged the filter element. So I've purchased a new filter and fitted it correctly, the "plopping" noise has now gone .
As they say start with the simple bits first.

Update.......
