Noisy diff 412 Sprinter

I've got 412 Sprinter which has been ultra reliable and has covered over 250,000 miles and never misses a beat. The thing is the rear axle whines around 50-60 but is fine below this speed and you can sort of play it on the throttle if you know what I mean, it gets noiser in a droning kind of way the faster you go but seems to subdue to a steadier noise once cruising at 70 or so. My question is this, is it worth getting it repaired/replaced or will it be alright for a while longer? Ta

The answer to that is, can you put up with the noise, and can you handle getting stuck if it breaks.?

Presumably you've checked it's got oil in the diff ?

Yes, changed the fluid twice since owning the van last March. Guess I just live with it until it breaks is the answer then
