I have started a new thread continuing from my earlier one re just aquired. 2000 X reg C320 with what I think is a Cark CK-1W nokia bluetooth. As my earlier thread might have not been too clear as to what my problem was.
The nokia bluetooth has just the the small round control swith and a speaker in the passenger footwell and a Microphone above the rear view mirror and no other phone cradle or phone connecter and I wanted to know how to find the bluetooth control unit as I have now read more on this site re control unit, with some ref to it being under the rear seat or in the boot or are they referring to comand control unit ??.
Just to clarify the situation . The previous owner had a bluetooth phone and paired her phone to it but dosn't have the code. Have tried all the codes 0000 1234 etc
but it dosn't work. Searching the net have found out the pass code is on the original packaging and is the last four digits of the serial number on the control unit. The bluetooth was fitted by previous owners son-in law so need to know how to find the control unit. Tried to clear nokia carkit by using the user guide for the CK-1W which states if carkit has been previously paired you can clear passcode by using the small round button type control switch by holding down for ten seconds and it gives 3 flashes and is supposed to beep twice to clear passcode but only beeps once. Previous owner said she would phone me if she found out what the code is but no news after a week. Can the old passcode be cleared in any other way then as stated in intructions leaflet or can anyone suggest where the control unit is most likely situated.
Any more info greatly appreciated

Tony

i wonder if just d/c the battery for a few mins might reset it to a default of 0000 1234 etc?
please do bear in mind though that d/c the battery creates issues, you can do a search on it but what comes to mind are:
1)some models need a radio code, make sure you have that,
2) its reccomended that the carkey is NOT in the ignition whilst you d/c or reconnect the battery, and to have your headlights turned to the on position before reconnecting to avoid a surge and risk blowing anything like SAM etc.
you will have to reprogram the windows one touch features by making the window goto the bottom of its travel and holding the button for 8 further seconds, then, holding it until it closes then hold for an additional 8 seconds.
Sometimes you will get error appear on inst display, i think its about BAS? cant remember what it complains about but it can be cured by turning the steering wheel from full lock left to full lock right 3 times, its reccomended to do this whilst rolling along very slowly to avoid putting strain on steering components, i saw someone the other week say instead of rolling if you want you could drive the car onto glossy magazines beforehand, seems like a reasonable idea guess it will remove the friction greatly just the same.
i think thats about it.

■ Resetting the car kit
You can reset the car kit to the original settings, for example, to change the
default user of the car kit.
When you reset the car kit, all of its settings, including pairing information, are
cleared.
To reset the car kit: Make sure the car kit is turned off. Press and hold the remote
control button for about 10 seconds until the indicator light starts to flash. Once
the car kit has been reset, the car kit beeps twice.

tony if swells is right with the code thing you could do battery reset as above. im sure if it lost power, then the code will default so if it is 0000 then no worries.

im not sure about the insides of your car, i know my 203 was a real pain to get headunit out, but it might be easier on your car..

As I have already stated I have read the Pdf for the ck-1w and have it swithed off and
press & hold for 10 seconds indeed it does flash 3 times but only beeps once. And repeat
trying to pair phone still does not work . does anyone have any thoughts on the beep only happening once.

IIRC you can pair up to 4 phones to a CK-7W hold the button down until it flashes at you and then put your phone into search mode. I fitted one to my previous MB then installed it in the Caravelle. I've paired loads of phones/PDAs/Blackberrys to it by this method and not had issues.

Yes, I've had 4 devices paired to it at the same time. My phone, my blackberry, my sons phone and my partners phone. As it is a standard Nokia car kit then "0000" is the code. From your description the phone is finding the car kit but not accepting the code.
Here is the Nokia user guide and installation guide and I just found the below after a quick search;

To reset the CK-7W switch off ignition and hold in the button until you hear a long bleep. To pair, turn on your ignition and search for devises on your phone, make sure the button on the dash is flashing at this point.

ck-1w

This is a ck-1w car kit early models took the pairing key from the last 4 digits on the bar code of the main unit, not 0000
Have you had any luck with locating it,most fitters say behind glove box would be a good place to look

Thanks BLo8CAT for the link to nokia
But I have already found and read this.
I think my nokia bluetooth is as previouly stated CK-1W and not CK-7W which is the advanced one as there is no connection to the phone just the conrol switch/ small speaker / Mic. retried your instructios again but found Carkit and asked for password entered 0000 phone said password invalid and device unavailable

he is all knowing in most things like this
