Non starter

Earlier this year I bought a beautiful C180 that had live all its life in sunny Spain. I have really enjoyed driving & owning it. A couple of months ago, the battery started giving up on me so I put a new one on. From that day to this the car has not run. To start with, turning the ignition did nothing. After a few turns the fob wouldn't even turn to the 'start' position. The drive is locked in park and for some while I couldn't even get back into the boot with the key.
I managed the boot yesterday and the battery is now fully charged, but to no avail. Same symptoms as before. Everything dead.
I have contacted the previous owner who has told me that the previous owner to him had a superduper alarm/immobiliser fitted to the car. Apart from something like a microcamera fitted above the front windscreen, I can't find anything about the alarm.
Has anyone got any ideas, as I really am loathe to scrap the car as It is in A1 condition?????????

Take it to an auto electrician. If it has an alarm he will know where it's likely to be connected and how to disable/bypass it.
In that era alarms could be any of several brands so trying to guess is pointless
