This is the first time I've used this forum so if this subject has been covered in other older threads then apologies in advance
My 1992 E class 230E didn't start last week and had to be towed to my fathers house for him to try to identify the fault. Though in general the car has been very reliable during the seven years I'ved owned it, I have experienced the same intermittant rough idling problem that's been discussed in other threads though I've never been left stranded...
We've checked the spark plugs which are fine and all four spark plugs have a good spark, cleaned the injection pipes with an airline, the fuel pump pumps fuel and reaches the injectors, we've also cleaned the idle valve with carb cleaner. The starter motor turns over ok... Can anyone give us any ideas what else to try before we admit defeat and tow the car to the nearest garage...?
