2015 C250 CDI Coupe
Hi everyone,

I'm the incredibly proud new owner of a 2015 C250 CDI. I'm absolutely in love with it already! I'll post some pictures as soon as I've captured some decent ones.

A bit about me: I live in the north east of England, and have some experience of working on cars, but it was mostly watching my dad do everything and fetching him cups of tea!

I have a very large number of things I want to do with my new car, but my first question is around any tips on in-car navigation options. My car didn't come with the nav pack installed, but I also can't figure out what the best option is on both price and reliability... The aftermarket upgrade kits on https://www.commandonline.co.uk/ seem expensive, and I also can't find info on keeping the maps updated, but replacing the whole unit with one of the aftermarket android auto units looks a bit hit or miss in terms of build quality and reliability.

Can anyone signpost me to a guide covering everything related to the COMAND unit options, and how to upgrade each? I think the first thing I need to do is understand what I have!

Thanks,

G

Thanks for the welcome :)

I'm going to assume I don't have that, unless it's hidden somewhere in the car and I haven't found it yet...

Welcome Noobie. Navigation depends on what your wallet says.

A COMAND retrofit will be in near thousand figure I guess, as you will need looms and coding and a navi unit.

You could get an android system which many people do for much less and have alot of functionality.

If your mobile has a good data plan then you need a holder for a few quid.

TBF nothing is more up to date than google maps or the like, but people prefer something more aesthetically pleasing in thier car.

Aside from entertainment, aquaint yourself with a good merc indy for the mechanical side if you are new to the brand.

Enjoy the car and the forum.

Thanks very much for the reply, it's unfortunately what I expected in terms of cost to get it done in the official way. I'll most likely just find an aesthetically pleasing way of using my phone and a cradle to holder of some sort.
