hi everyone, again forgive me this is a volvo v70 td, with auto box.
the question is this. at my local merc inde's garage which i reccomended, the auto box oil was being changed. apparantly the inde had a 4 foot bar trying to remove the level plug on the side of the box, this was twisting the box etc. eventually they failed to remove the plug, so started to fill the box through the dip stick tube, took 45 minutes.
the car was fine driving home. the following day the selecting of reverse was impossible, drive was ok.
the box had to be removed and sent away for major surgery.
can anyone give a hypothesis as to what caused this to happen ? herbiemercman.
