Let's hope diesel doesn't become cheaper than veggie oil - I don't fancy cooking with it.

My E300 Diesel always feels a bit perkier when I run it on Jamaican Blue Mountain. For long journeys a smooth medium blend is preferable. Etc, etc

Next thing you know petrol pump attendants will be making a comeback but they'll be called Baristas and we'll all be filling up at Starbucks

As this post is on the subject of fuel has any body noticed that BP diesel fuel has increased by 4p a litre this week firstly by a penny then yesterday by another 3p.All the other garages seem to be unchanged.

Diesel is struggling to keep under the pound a litre level despite the fall from $147 to $47 for a barrel of oil. Obviously there is some problem with the £ to $ ratio and a bit of cold weather in some countries but I strongly suspect the cartel hand is in action.

Huge competition. The problem is that refining capacity has not kept up with demand for diesel.

And refineries make very little money contrary to popular opinion.

I assume that all of Europe is going through a cold spell at the moment; it was -20 in Austria last week. Hopefully, when it warms up again, the price of diesel will come down.
