My experience is that failure after 4.5 years isnt covered unless FMBSH then they will pay to 5 years old under goodwill. Anything more than that and it punches your own wallet.
I have FMBSH and some goodwill items (last week) dealer expected Merc to contribute on, was a straight decline. E class 66 plate, 47k) Dealer said that due to COVID, MB are being a bit tighter on Goodwill and they’re see a lot more rejections. Hence protecting the cash!

Very unlucky indeed. Should have gone to an indy for servicing then and saved yourself some money.

Another piece of proof that MBSH isnt worth the additional expense.

I wish there was a good Indy near me :( There’s good ones in Nottingham, but that’s a 2 hour round trip. If someone wants to setup a Merc specialist in Lincoln. We can make some big bucks but, even better ... make happier customers!

I have a customer that comes all the way down from lincolnshire for me to do his car. Leaves at 6am to get here for 8:30, we prime ready to get his car in so we can flip it as quickly as possible to get him back on the road.

Some people like to travel and make the day of it.

I really wish I could do this, because I’ve been desperate to get the car into Wheels in Motion. Also the amount my E class needs to be in the garage atm, I might as well rent somewhere next door!

this message is usually associated with adblue level - if you don't refill as per the procedure in the handbook to protect this emissions system it will stop the car from being started when the level is very low.

P229F-23 NOx sensor 2(cylinder bank1) has a malfunction. No signal change: voltage level is too low.
P13DF00 The AdBlue system has a malfunction

did the vehicle require emissions software updates?

I just bought my first Merc a few weeks ago.
I just had a NOX sensor fault and was very disappointed with Mercedes. The alarm said I only had 450 miles until the car will stop running!
But there is an 8 MONTH backlog in the spare parts!!! Worse still my local Mercedes dealer said they could not even look at the problem for 1 month!

So they make a part that can stop your car, make it badly so thet loads go faulty and fail to increase supply- great way to treat your customers!
I should have stayed with Suzuki.

Adblue system is not fit for purpose
Total rubbish and maker knows it. Hardly surprising people delete it. Mine was changes at about 40k miles (whole adblue system. Now at under70k miles and adblue 500vto go and adblue malfunction consult owners manual (f useless. Have come up three times in last Yr. Deleted rtnd, deleted.
Currently can't plan EU trip with Car so I am at delete as well, hopefully early next week. If benz designed life support the morgs would be overflowing

Nor I again. I am stuck with it. The system will be written out. If benz properly sort it with 10 Yr warranty I will re instate otherwise not.
It's the worst, useless, expensive bit of kit fitted to a car I can think of in my 40 yr engine experience, that and egr on plastic manifolds!!

Blame the EU parliament for the ADBLUE mess they make the emission rules compounded by the fact that MB pushed out an ADBLUE system not engineered to last the life of the vehicle

Hi Guys , I just did my software engine update to my car and I realised short after few problems and I'm wondering if any of you have similar pb after update
1.low RPM on idle around 550 600 and engine vibration
2.gearbox start to shift gears hars and strange
3. Adblue low level come on . I fill it up with around 15 L of adblue and the error is still on .
And I think they encrypt my ECU because I have an icarsoft diagnostic tool and when I put it on the car I realise I cannot read nothing with him from engine management I don't have this option anymore.
No Nox sensor , no adblue level absolutely nothing . Did any of you have this problems after software update ?
Thank you

That would surprise me, but not impossible, first check Yr scan tool is connected correctly and try it on another benz go from there.

My MB is 7 yera s old. I checked with MB Uk and they confirmed there is a recall on NOX sensors.
They just took it in and tested it and said it was OK
2 days later the engine alarm came up and I took it in again and they confirmed both NOX sensors have faults.
They say they will replace both free as it is a recall.
