NoX software update?

hello,

I have a E Class coupe 220 which was running brilliantly, when it recently went to the dealership for some work they said they would have to run some software to check if I needed the Nox sensors updated i was assured it wouldn't change anything however on its return the car lacks power and also the MPG has reduced by about 9MPG on a journey I do day in day out.
So my question are if anyone knows
Does this update possibly effect MPG?
Does it effect performance or stage one remapps ?
And
Does it effect any other parts of the car or performance?

Hello and welcome

From a few threads on here it does appear to reduce fuel economy. It also stops the gearbox changing up as early on the 9g boxes. Quite often they won’t go into 9th until 85mph after update...

Thanks for the speedy reply ..... I did think the gearing had changed it seems to take longer to get into last gear but I have the 7g model.

Yes. Same thing with my E Class Coupe after software change and replacement of both NOX sensors.

No way of getting around it though.

If you've had your car "remapped" don't get a software update as it may overwrite the map. General opinion seems to be that these updates don't improve MPG/performance, but help to meet emissions rules. Go figure!

Using more of something to give less of something else... sounds about right

Mines does 9th gear around 70 to 75 mph. Sometimes I have to force it.
