Evening, I am about to buy a SL55 AMG with ABC issues- yep mad I know! Does any of your diagnostics software or readers deal with ABC ? I can’t afford a genuine star system, have you bought anything on eBay that works? Hope you don’t mind me asking. Regards DeanDepends how deep your pockets are and what you need to do, I would avoid the £50 Ebay Xentry.
I started out with an iCarsoft CR Max as l need to use it on other makes, a lot of people on here have the dedicated Mercedes iCarsoft units and seem happy with them for servicing and repairs, I was too until I started chasing a fault and discovered the limitations of my iCarsoft unit and that required Xentry to correct.
I have two S211's and I have spent more hours working on each car with a laptop than hand tools over the last 3 years.
I have not as yet had the need to try my iCarsoft CR Max on a car with ABC, if I owned a car like yours I would go straight to Xentry.Evening, I am about to buy a SL55 AMG with ABC issues- yep mad I know! As @LostKiwi said earlier in the thread........Xentry- dam spell checker!
Xentry is the dealer level diagnostic system. It's PC based and comprises a multiplexer, cables and PC with Xentry software. It costs thousands. It's also sometimes called Star.
There are Chinese copies available but we don't talk about them for legal reasons.
