OBD1 Plug

I have a year 2000 C220 CDI Elegance Estate, Can anyone tell me where the is diagnostics plug socket to connect to my ladtpo.
I have bought the software and plug link but cannot find where to plug it in on the car.
Help!!!!!

hi on your year some it may have 38 pin mb socket or obd11 if its obd it is located under the dash on the drivers side. if its 38 pin its under the bonnet in the fuse box.

Thanks but its not under the dash as I have recently had this out to replace the bonnet release cable, and I cannot find it in the fuse box .Cheers.

The 38 pin socket, if that's what you've got ,is in the ecu compartment on the nearside rear of the engine bay.

If it is 38 pin it has a cap on it, like a oil cap in the front of relay/module holder.
if you cant find give me the first 6 figures of VIN

Cannot find the socket under the bonnet, the first six numbers of the vin are WBD202193

It is known as the module box and its sits under the bonnet passenger side over the foot well, it has a sloping top with a round cap at front. the X11/4 data link connector is under that cap

Spot on.Thank you very much,The module box has a notice about servicing the air con and I thought it was the air con conrtole box, I did not even see the removable cap untill you gave me the specific details.
