Hi all

Firstly I want to say that I am aware that this error code could be a few things, so I've taken the front bumper off and the RH intercooler pipe to look for tears, as it appears that the whooshing noise I'm hearing is coming from there, however the pipe looks ok, no obvious splits, ha ent checked drivers side pipe yet into turbo itself. Is it normal to see oil either end of said pipe? Also there seems to be some oil around the bottom area of where the pipe goes into the engine (sump?) So I'm wondering where else this air leak could be coming from if not from either pipe? And would the error code be different if from inlet mani?

They're called autoclass in Milton Keynes, MB Specialists......
They might be a decent company....
My inlet manifold Cost £308 from MB. Yours is costing nearly £600 to fit? They seem to be around £125 per hour labour from where I'm standing

So..... after some money spent.. ..995 on intake manifold replacement, new fuel filter housing ( might as well ) new vacuum reservoir ( I snapped mine at the hose ) a DPF clean after a failed forced regen, its now failed its MOT on emissions ( pic attached ) does anyone know what thise readings might suggest? I've added some cat clean stuff to 1/4 tank fuel and noticed smoke under high revs, I assume that's the product doing its job..... I will replace oil and filter and air filter too. Do you suppose that's all it might need, being so soon after the DPF clean? The stats for the clean are fine now and it regens itself. BTW no fault codes are present....

if some cleaner and exercise works or not depends how far off the limits it is, if you really have no error codes, try servicing and a bit of Italian tune up will probably be a good idea...

of course how stock is the car? if its been chipped then emission could be anywhere. And if someone removed the DPF then it will not pass till that's replaced. Note lots of Mercedes of this era seem to struggle to Regen the DPF correctly, often sensor issues stop it completing successfully. I think this age they were up to revision 7 of the DPF pressure sensor

Thanks for replying mate, the dpf sensor was replaced at the beginning of all this nonsense and it has had a stage 1 remap, dpf still on car. I've put some cat cleaner in a quarter tank, will do oil and filter and air too, fingers crossed! I'll keep you posted pal
