Odometer Dashboard Lights

Dear all,

having recently purchased a 1997 E230 in the UK, the odometer backlight (and trip counter light) has failed.  Is this easy to replace myself or do I have to contact a Mercedes Garage for this?

Hi Doc

The hardest thing is removing the clock. This can be very tight! There are special pullers but these can slip and pull of the front facia if not careful.

If not competent then find yourself a specialist or the local stealership.

At least if something happens you can blame them.

Sorry for the delay in replying, Andy.  Just did a tour of West Ireland.  The car was great.  Thanks for the advice.  I will leave it until the next service and have been warned to get all of the bulbs replaced because apparently they can pop, after being disturbed.
