Mercedes-Benz clk c209 220 CDI ASSYST says B service due 8100 miles. However service history shows last oil change done at 120 k miles. Current mileage 136k runs very smoothly. Do I wait for next B service for oil change or do it now. History doesn't tally with last major service to now. If I leave it until another 8k for oil service then would have done 24k on same oil, surely that can't be correct. I am thinking arthur daily tweaked the ASSYST to make B service longer interval.

If I go by ASSYST car would have had 2 B services over 24k miles ?

Any advice appreciated.

Was just thinking the same...thanks

Going to give it major service. I do very few miles like 6k a year so will be all good hopefully after that. Although have some horrendous knocking coming from rear. Changed small drop links and knocking remains. Driving me nuts as spoils the ride quality. Had shocks checked and garage say fine.

Feel I will be picking up all the post 100k repair bills

Can't really help with the knocking but have you checked the rear anti roll bar bushes? Re the oil & filter change, do it. I recently did it on my c209 same engine as yours and the engine is much quieter now, especially when cold.

When the Godfather of oil changes says change oil, do it or face the fire of hell.
Funny buddy , I would have done at least 16 changes by then ;)

No-one wants to attempt to replace the ARB bushings. The constant knocking is SO annoying, so much so , I just as well still be driving my old Ford. Had 6 garages look at suspension and they found zero. Even say rear shocks still good and so are springs.

I just want a garage and not MB ,to buy the parts...arb bushings, and replace them. For £150 willing to take a gamble as I feel their all looking to play a game of if we change this, maybe this, we'll try this first. It could be any of the control arms but they find nothing visible.

Anyone on here played the game of multiple choice in replacing rear suspension parts to only find out, it was the anti roll bar bushings after all causing horrendous rear knocking sound?

Thought these cars were suppose to be hard wearing
