My Cousin, under my recommendation I might add, has a July 2018 GLA 200 Sport, this after having 4 BMW's in a row. He is a cautious driver , 36,700 miles and the original rear tyres.
Imagine his surprise when a check coolant appeared on the screen. There is oil in the coolant, I seem to remember a number of years ago an item about this on the forum, I looked at his radiator and it does appear to have an oil pipe in the plumbing, do they still have that system that allows the oil and water to mix if there is a leak?
He as you might guess is none too happy that this has happened to his car, already he is mumbling about BMW, Surely after all these years MB are not continuing with what is a design fault. I'm sure this is not a one of, anyone out there have a similar experience and what is MB's response.

Cars in general have had oil or transmission fluid to coolant heat exchangers for years. Its very common to find a transmission cooler in the side of a radiator ... hardly a design fault.

My dad's 1973 Holden had an oil to water heat exchanger.
likewise my 1993 SL, 2001 E Class, 2002 SL, and 2011 R Class. In fact every Mercedes, Audi, Saab I've had! Range Rover do it too. Not new, not a design fault.
Manufacturing fault maybe.
