OIL LEAK

Hi all ( pist off from valencia ) i changed the rocker cover gasket i thought
the oil was from them as its at the back of the engine right were the starter is
but no on closer look it may bee sump gasket as there is oil in the bottom
of the bell housing in the small hole in front of the exhaust cross over.
the rear crank oil seal is dry so its not that can you get the sump off with the engine in the car . any body have any thoughts if it can bee from any were
else its the v6 3.2 and its in my clk :(

Hi, if you have oil in the bell housing bottom its more likely autobox fluid if the rear main is ok nothing else can get inside the housing , is it reddish or like engine oil! if it its red its the the convertor to box oil seal. how is the level in the box you wont have a dip stick you have to buy one! or make one up!

No not auto fluid it is engine oil different smell and colour not unless
auto box has engine oil in it ( joke) the bolts under the
starter on the yoke part of the sump to the bell housing are wet with oil
the sump joins the block just in front of the converter i have a feeling
its there any more thoughts greatly received
