as television , i did answer this asking if it was ATF or engine oil as its coming out of the bell housing, very old dirty ATF can look like engine oil! as we know! leaky sump or rear main , last resort! if its not running down from some where, a friends shogun was diagnosed last week rear main seal gone , I know they have a problem with a half moon seal at the back of head under the rocker gasket, yes thats what it was 15 minutes some gasket goo! back on lovely! so dont always think the worst , not at first anyway save it for later!

I think that by dropping the front sub frame will be the only way to remove the sump on a 112

can you get it on a ramp and wash off that area let it dry then run it and really identify the leak, sump leak sounds very rare to me, but what do i know! other than make sure its that because its a lot if work as television says cross member / subframe down or engine out i hope its something else, keep us informed as you go along unless heavy drinking comes into it then you are excused! Rap!

How very odd and worrying, needs further investigation of some sort, how about stuffing some rag up around the rear main and seeing if its actually coming from around there when driven, obviously keeping fire safe of course! but drastic times call for drastic measures, in the sixties i worked with a rob walker lotus racing mechanic, who if there was a noise from an engine bay when driven you couldnt find, would take the bonnet off and sit in the bay as you drove it around the block and listen etc and it worked , jags / bmw,s/ etc the good old days! well fun anyway but you get my drift! and yes he is still alive!

The leak could just be a seal on a sensor.

Still, I'd be tempted to liberally dust suspected areas with talcum powder then drive the car for a bit.

The talc will soak up the oil and give you more of an idea as to where it's coming from.

the only joint around there must be a head gasket i wonder if the oil feed to a head is around the corner of a gasket at the rear! I hope it isnt! someone on here will know.

not losing much only a spot on the floor an inch across after a 100 miles
prob is it blows on to the exhaust so wen you stop you can smell it
and that ****es me of more than the spot of oil on the floor
