Hi
Just been out and checked oil as I have just seen post on how to find out how much oil in sump.Turn key to position 1 ensure total mileage is displayed.

push tripreset button 3 times.

The display then goes into a new mode showing battery voltage.
Use the up/down buttons on the wheel to find the menu with OIL at the bottom.

Tutn key to position2 wait a few moments and the actual oil level will be displayed in litres.
Just done all that but the engine was only just warm as it had been standing for some time and it read 7.50 on the screen does that mean litres if so I should now go and drain some out or is it best to get car up to operating temp.
Thanks

Hi,

Yes that will be in litres but I'd check it again once the engine is cold, just to be sure before going through the bother of draining oil unless of course you know you've put too much in.

You're welcome. I did my oil change a month or so ago and 6 litres came out of mine as a guide but yours might be more or less than that. I think the manual says they hold 6.5 litres but I might be wrong on that.

This is on an OM646 engine by the way. You can find your engine type from your logbook :)

You can also find your engine code by using the three presses menu. It's on the last page if I recall!

I'd say you're better off checking the logbook as the menu on my OM646 comes up as OM611 on the cars menu via the 3 press method.
