i have had my c200 cdi 05 plate a year now but recently a malfunction light, (oil level, reduce oil level ). As I have not put any oil in the car over the course of that year it seems odd that there is now too much, if anything i would expect to put some in. (done 6000 miles in the year). can anyone shed any light please, thankyou

This is a malfunction of the oil level system can give errors, best to have it checked on STAR.

MB say that foreign matter can find its way into the engine, but this does not add up, as its OK when cold

Rising sump level

I would check if the oilk is contaminated with fuel oil (diesel)
This can and will leak into the sump if there are faulty injectors but this would not then go away with running.
Hope the fault is only a sensor.
There are too dam*nd sensors in this world today from cctv cameras to this Gordon Brown government and and his communist Stalinist thinkings.
Rant Over.
