Hello ,

Just looking for a little guidance if poss.

Couldn't add pictures for some reason as it would have been easier to explain my request for help.

So, attached to my turbo and below it is a small round gold coloured "thingy" with a plunger type of an affair going into the top.
It has oil on top of it,its very oily.

Also on top of the engine(looking at it from the front) with the left hand cover removed, there appears to be oil in the little voids spaces.

I have no problems with power or acceleration and apart from a cloud smoke under initial hardish acceleration , the car runs great with good mpg.

From reading the forum I'm thinking turbo seals ? If so,is it an easy DIY or strictly for the professional spanner rattlers ? Approx cost ?

Ideas most gratefully appreciated.

The "thingy" is the waste gate controller, it uses a vac to pull the gate rod. the oil is coming from the turbo seal, cheap and easy to replace, I suspect the oil on top is from filling the engine with oil.........
