Can anyone recommend a decent oil for a CLK 270 CDI, that provides good value for money?

I was looking on the internet yesterday for some and the one recommended for my car is 5W-30, which seems to be more expensive than 5W-40. Shell do one called "Shell Helix Ultra Extra 5W/30" which costs £68.15 for six litres and Castrol have one called "Castrol Edge 5W/30" which costs £61.10 for four litres.

Does anyone know of any other oils that will be of a similar quality but a bit cheaper?

Also how much will I need for an oil change?

Thanks in advance.

You can use any make that conforms to the spec "meets 229,3 or 5" , 5 being the latest

You cannot beat Mobil 1, especially at £23 for 4 litres from Costco.

My 220CDi takes 6.5 litres, the 270CDi must have at least that if not slightly more?
